A festive sit down meal for Leicester’s homeless and vulnerable

Midland Langar Seva Society is hosting its first sit down festive meal in Leicester this Christmas Eve. The aim is simple. Create a warm space where people can eat together, feel included and enjoy a moment of comfort during a difficult time of year.

The event takes place on Wednesday 24 December 2025 from 5pm to 7pm at St Peter’s Highfield Church. Volunteers will welcome guests to a full vegetarian festive dinner with traditional accompaniments. The team has worked with professional caterers to offer a meal that feels special and nourishing.

You will see Santa and the volunteer elves throughout the evening. Every guest, young or old, housed or homeless, will receive a Christmas gift. The intention is to offer dignity, connection and a reminder that no one is forgotten during the winter months.

The charity has served communities across the UK for many years. This sit down meal builds on that commitment by creating a communal dining experience where people can relax indoors and share a moment of celebration.

Anyone in need of support is welcome to attend. No referral or paperwork is required. The aim is to ensure that everyone leaves with a full stomach and a sense of being cared for.
