
Leicestershire Nutrition and Dietetics Service are providing training for staff who support adults in Leicester (on MS Teams)
Monday 7th Sept (10-12.30pm)
Tuesday 29th Sept (9.30-12.00pm)
(You only need to attend one date of your choice)
This new training package aims to provide you with an understanding of the causes of
excess weight and key nutrition messages. It will give you the knowledge and
confidence to take information learnt in this training into your own day to day work.
This training is suitable for anyone working in Leicester who:
- Interacts with people and wants to learn more about how to support those they
work with to access better health and wellbeing. - Wants to gain knowledge on nutrition and a balanced diet and learn why it is
important. - To upskill staff to feel confident and empowered to support people on making
healthier food choices.
This training will include information on: - A balanced diet and how this can be adapted for individual health needs,
providing practical suggestions and cultural variations - Eating on a budget and advice when shopping
- Common nutrition myths: What is the truth
- Barriers to maintaining a healthy weight and what could help
- Being mindful when eating
- Importance of physical activity and the services available
